Introduction to Carbines for Home Defense

The Introduction to Carbines for Home Defense course is a comprehensive one-day course designed to teach the use of the carbine as a defensive weapon for home protection. In this course you will learn about the flexibility, versatility, and proper applications of the defensive carbine and how it can best be used in a defensive manner to safeguard your family and home against home invasion.

• Firearms Safety
• Weapon Familiarization 
• Safe  Loading/unloading 
• How to "Zero" your Rifle ·
• Shooting and Marksmanship Fundamentals ·
• Live Fire Target Acquisition Drills

Required Equipment

AR15-configuration (.223/or 5.56mm carbine); AK47 Configuration (7.62x39)* (Rental units with course ammo available for additional fee. Add to cart if needing a rental.)

(3+) rifle magazines

100 rounds of factory FMJ ammunition

Eye and ear protection

Tactical sling, One-Point or Two-Point (Optional)

Comfortable clothing that provides protection from both the sun and ejected brass as this class is held outdoors.

*All student carbines must have front and rear iron sights. Tactical optics that permit co-witness of front and/or rear sights, such as the Aimpoint, EoTech, Holosun, etc, may be used during the course, but do not substitute for iron sights.

NOTE: It is also recommended that students bring a hat for additional protection during classes.
