Man Fights Off Thieves During Home Invasion

ATLANTA -- A south Fulton County homeowner had to fight his way out of his own home after a Tuesday morning home invasion, police said.

Two armed men came to the back door of a home on Elkmont Ridge and forced their way inside, according to police.“He
was home watching television when two black males kicked in the door,”
Fulton County police Detective Melissa Parker told Channel 2’s Darryn
Moore.“We do know a struggle ensued and the victim was pistol
whipped,” Parker said. The homeowner eventually fought off his attackers
and went to a neighbors home to ask for help, Parker said.Paramedics
took the victim to the hospital. Parker said police were working to
determine if the home invasion was random or if the thieves knew their
target.Officers have not said if the men stole anything from the home.
